Tokyo is so filled with signs that one becomes desensitized to them as a defense mechanism. Over the last few years I've been actively looking for places with sign overkill. The above picture is of the handrail along an escalator in Otemachi station. The text says "Please hang on to the handrail" and is repeated every 4 feet or so.
