When I was home, I noticed that none of my friends seemed to carry much cash. People were whipping out debit cards for even the littlest purchases. I understand that it's easier, but it just didn't seem to make sense to me. Todd told me (when I asked) that there was no fee to use a debit card. I hate to impugn the altruistic nature of large banks and credit card companies, the sitch just didn't sit right.

Turns out that Visa has been sticking it to the retailers instead. It seems that the Senate has taken notice.

PSA: Thai Food Festival 2010

On May 15th and 16th the Thai Festival will be held in Yoyogi. This was the first big, public event that I went to after coming to Tokyo and it holds a special place in my heart. I have this image burned into my brain of Nate walking through the crowd with a sleeveless shirt, gradient sunglasses and geta.
